I have trained extensively in the safety of posing newborn babies to ensure, that your baby is in safe hands while I capture your beautiful images
Newborn sessions are best being carried out under 14 days, as this is when they are at their curliest foetal positions as well as sleepy for easing into those poses.  You can also have a photoshoot after the 14 days, it is just a bit more challenging to obtain those cute poses, but you will still have some lovely images to cherish.  I would say newborn photography for babies up to 8 weeks, after this period they are too alert to be posed.
The session can last up to 3 hours, this gives the baby time to feed and be settled for the session.  Sometimes, if the baby won’t settle or won’t sleep despite all efforts, we can reschedule the session.
The baby will be posed with various wraps as well as poses with bare skin.  If there are specific props you would like in your images or you have a certain colour in mind just let us know when booking.  We must have the studio at a certain temperature to keep baby warm, so I would advise parents to wear layers as it does get warm.
This session focuses on the baby however parents and siblings can join in.  It is a long time for siblings to be sitting so we would suggest bringing along something that they enjoy doing to keep them entertained.
What to bring
You will need plenty of milk if you bottle feed, even if the baby has just had a feed, baby’s settle better when they have a top up.
It is time for you to enjoy some free time while we photograph your baby, so if you like reading bring your book or a magazine along, or if you just want to catch up on the soaps or watch a film there is a tv in the studio.
I do request that no photos are taken while the session takes place due to copyright.
When is the best time to book?
The best time to book is when you are 20-30 weeks pregnant, at this stage we will make a provisional booking based on your due date.  Once the baby is born we will arrange a suitable date and time for your session.  We do require a retainer to secure your booking which will then be discounted off your package.
